On almost the same note the new version of Picasa (came out yesterday), the digital photo software from Google now has geo tagging in it. You can tag photos and it is integrated with google earth to put them on the map. Not necessarily the most crucial thing but also very cool.

While that’s cool that Google and Apple can work together, I was more impressed by the PhotoSynth project being developed in Microsoft Labs. Flickr already has geotagging and that works well. But PhotoSynth will use that geotagging to present a 3D visualization of all users’ pictures to recreate the actual place. Check out the links below for more info:
