Love it or hate it, you and I both know that Microsoft Windows is the world’s #1 desktop operating system. Today Windows turns 21 years old and to celebrate, we’re taking it out to the local pub to get hammered. Connected Internet has put together a great list of facts about Windows to celebrate its birthday. Some highlights include:
That’s sick. Windows has really gone through some changes though since its inception as the uber-craptastic version 1.0. My personal favorite version is tied between 3.1 and Windows 2000. Windows 2000 just seemed to work really well and was speedy. I’d still use it today if I didn’t have Vista to use. What’s your favorite version of Microsoft’s demonically popular OS? As a grey-hair that still remembers a few CPM commands, there will always be a place in my arsenal for command-line functions. I don’t believe a day goes by where I don’t pull up a console window to get something done.
