I like the Box.net widget, it doesnt feed off of rss, but allows people to subscribe to it, through the widget.

My site’s reputation is based around it not looking like a heap of dirty clothing, and Blidget along with the majority of the other widgets you can put on your site do just that. Why any self-respecting person would want to make their site uglier by adding this garbage is beyond me.

I guess its a matter of opinion. I would say that widgets improve the look of your site.

hi guys i jst came across a site which has similar name… bligets without a ‘d’ http://bligets.com where u can create your favorite lists and put the lists as sidebar widget in your blog… whats interesting is that u can create different lists and export all the lists and put it up as one side bar widget and scroll all the lists in the same widget!!… site now seems a bit shabby….but its still in alpha…..something to look out for in the future…..

You’re saying that half a dozen boxes in a sidebar, all looking completely different from one another and the site, all doing different things and taking different times to load, makes my site look better? You must be on a different planet.

Maybe I am sort of old fashioned but I really don’t know what to do with widgets. ;)

Disclaimer: I’m a founder of the service I’m just about to describe. This is going to be a completely biased comment!

Using the FeedGhost RSS reader you can tag articles or web-pages. Taking that one stage further, you can then create your own ‘link blogs’ that take their content from articles tagged with certain categories. Once set up, you can add interesting articles to your link blog as you find them with just a couple of clicks.

We provide a widget in various styles, or if you want to match the style of your existing web site (which let’s face it is pretty important), we publish the exact HTML and CSS class structure of the widget so you can style it yourself.

Can anyone tell me why my widgetbox blidget, when posted on my Facebook profile, shows up first as {video} that must be clicked to “open”(see) the blidget/widget itself?

More importantly can you tell me how to make it NOT?
