I agree with E^P, while I do like the palm OS and the million and 4 apps and other awesome software it had, the look and physical design of the treo has left me wanting something sleeker. Palm needs to do something similar to what RIM did with the 8800 and the Pearl make a functional device that looks cool.
Seriously, it’s the 00’s it’s time for “geeks” everywhere to stop having giant gadgets hanging off their belts, that works for Batman but no one else. All gadgets should be bond-ish, small enough to fit into the pockets of a suit or sports coat but not look like every pocket is stuffed.
Ive used a Treo for some time, have only fiddles around with other devices. As a device, I like the Treo and the Palm OS. Both are now a bit behind the times though.
The Treo itself needs to be made with a smaller form factor. and the Palm OS, while still has plenty of functionality, desperately needs a major upgrade.
Other devices has caught up and in a lot of cases surpassed Palm and the Treo.
Am I the only one that is slightly perturbed by the notion that Palm will be sold off? PalmOS is arguably the most functional and productive mobile operating system. I say this admittedly being a full time Windows Mobile 5 user. However, with Nokia and Motorola in talks of purchasing Palm be prepared for for proprietary software, OS, hardware, etc. I think the PalmOS has ceased development either way though. I could be wrong. What if they lock down linux compatibility. Or some other unspeakable feat. Im a bit worried.
I have used Palm for a while. It is a functional brick, that appears sadly so anachronistic. It certainly needs an injection of Nokia or Motorola thinking.

You guys are joking right? You prefer Palm? Craptastic screens encapsulated in bricks. I hope Nokia gets Palm.
