I love m sidekick 2, and since the SK3 has a limited, and in my opinion crippled BT usage, this will do just fine. What you are getting is the physical finctionality of the SK3, with the stipped down’ness of the SK2.

Lets face it, the SK3 mp3 player sucks, the BT usage is ridiculus, and the EDGE is questionable as it is. This is just fine, and will bring the Danger brand into even more hands - which is what THEY want, as well as th emonetarily challenged.

T-Mobile has a Sidekick plan that doesn’t include voice and now, hard of hearing customers won’t have to pay for BT and an MP3 player they’re not going to use. I think this is a great idea.

The MP3 player does NOT suck. Maybe if everyone stopped ripping songs :)

But it is a VERY good MP3 player. Any other phone i have you cannot listen to music while playing a game, IMing, or browseing the web. (the song KBPS matters, I typically use 128, but I use 112 on songs that can handle that.)

This is just the first device with a MP3 player. It is inevitable that there will be improvments :)

As for the EDGE- Thats T-mobile.

My internet is ALWAYS fast. Sometimes at night it may take a few seconds longer, but I ususally experience DSL speeds.

The Blue tooth serves it’s purpose - to make calls with a wireless heaset.

I will probably buy this because i have almost every sidekick (minus the Diane VFB and Juicy); so there is no point in not continuing.

I hope this device looks better in person, like the others did.

This is just what I need. A phone. I don’t need a camera or an Mp3 player, I have my Canon Powershot and my iPod for that. I’ve wanted a Sidekick since the 2 came out, but I wasmore than a little agravated at the fact that I’d probably end up spending $300+, and not use 97% of the features. I’d just use it to call people (obviously), Text/IM people and check e-mail. This “Sidekick ID” has all of these and none of the useless crap that the 3 does.

…and it’ll be coming out just as I’m getting out of Navy Boot Camp/Going into A-school. There’s a plus.

The color scheme is not ugly, at least not to me. Not everyone likes the “gray brick” color scheme. I find this scheme cool and relaxing, not overly dramatized.

I don’t get people on here talking about how they want a sidekick but won’t use 97% of the features… that’s why they have nokias and all that or get one of them new blackberry’s

I’ve got an SK3 now and I’d much rather go back to an SK2, but the ID is a lot smaller so who knows…I always change my mind about the ‘kick.

Hi! i love my Skick 3!! the only thing i wish it did was turn Mp3 songs into ringtones! thats the only i wish they would change eventually! I understand how this new phone would be crafty for maybe older people that do not care about all the fancy stuff like my fiance he just wants phone to call people. i have to have email, and im, and internet.

This is such a great idea. Seems perfect for the Sidekick plan. Theirs no call time minutes so why would you need bluetooth? Ok a camera and MP3 would be nice, but who doesnt have an iPod, Zune, and a digital camera? not to mention any other camera is better than the one that suppose to be in the SK. The new kick will have my fave,which is awesome,I can text,email and im,that’s what’s important. The camera on the kick 2 sucks and the 3 is garbage!!!

t-mobile doesn’t make money on phones bought out right. they make plenty on the plans. the prices given on the t-mobile website are almost a break even price. i work for an indirect dealer and if we charged those prices without a contract, we either break even, for most phones, or lose money. i promise that most prices on t-mobile.com are reasonable and you will get your money’s worth.

also, let me clarify something about the camera on the sidekick. the camera on the sidekick does not suck. it’s the screen quality. 1.3 megapixel is plenty to take decent resolution pictures. no matter how nice the picture quality is, the sidekick is still on a VGA screen.

yes, the sidekick iD was make specifically for those who don’t want to spend so much money on the sidekick, but want to take advantage of the great messaging and data plan. also, you can NOT compare the dash to the sidekick. the sidekick was made for kids for their aim and texting. the dash was made for business use. they are both made for different application. as i always say to my customers: if you don’t need it, don’t spend the extra money on it.

I went to a tmobile store today to check about my juicy sk2 and one of the guys working there brought it out to show me. I am definitely getting this phone. And the bumper looking thingys are changeable. So ur not stuck to the the ugly white and grey alone (even tho it doesn’t make it all THAT better). And its also wayyyyy louder than the sk2/3. The menu looks just like the sk3 but it feels a little lighter in my hand. (Maybe that was just my excitement tho). But ne way I personally think its something to look forward to. And the price is unBeLiEvABLe!!!!

I just ordered my SKiD. I’m so excited for it. I have an ipod, and am getting a digicam, so those features don’t matter. I think it looks cute, not ugly. I have a shxtty SK2 right now, so, this is a great/cheap upgrade for me. =]

The SKID came out and I spent a while contemplating on whether to get rid of my SK3 for the SKID. I went ahead and went with the SKID and am happier with it. Reason for this being the following: I didn’t use the horrible camera on the SK3 nor the music player or bluetooth, so I figured the SKID was obviously the phone for me. If, however, you do use these multi media apps, the SKID is NOT the phone for you. I have a 7.0 mega pixel camera, and don’t use music players, so I don’t need these sub par features on a phone. That leaves this phone with all the communication and organizer apps (I use every single one of the apps on my SKID now).

Everything is pretty much the same (minus the multi media apps), except that the buttons on the SKID have DEFINITELY improved. Instead of being the cheap, Halloween-themed black and orange color, they’re white and blue - a MUCH better look. I purchased a white color kit for my phone and honestly, it’s very attractive and professional looking.

I would highly recommend this phone to anyone in any age group out there, not only preteens/teens. If you’re always on the go, and need an extreme communication gadget with an appointment app for your clients and to do app, this is the phone for you. It’s definitely not a Blackberry or Palm though, so if you need an intense business phone with more than the appointment and to-do functions, this is not the phone for you.

so i went into the t-mobile store today to check out SK3 and i realized WOW there is a sidekick ID. I loved the fact that its changeable and i really do not need the camera since i do have a digital camera. Plus i heard that the SK3 digital camera is crappy anyway. I really don’t need the Mp3 player because i’ll be damned if i walk around the mall with my sk3 playing and everyone is looking at me like “you dumb ass” as much as i love Mp3 players i am just not the type to “walk out in public” with one. But i think the phone is very nice. It is 149.00 with a 50.00 mail in rebate which makes the phone 99.99. I will be going back to the store in 2 hours to buy the Sidekick Id.

Oh yes and to those who are saying that if you buy this phone you are considered broke… Well the Sidekick 3 is now 200.00 with a mail in rebate. Which means that you are paying for a digitalcamera and a mp3 player with 100.00 and 9/10 you really won’t use either one of them. I already have a 300.00 camera why get a CAMERA PHONE that i know i won’t use and plus i will have my other phone which is a pebble. I have only had that for about 3 months. And i have only used the camera 4 times. And it wasnt to take pictures of myself.

The sidekick id is awesome!! I got mine a week ago and I haven’t put it down…I have unlimited text, instant messenging, email, and web browsing for $20…as a matter of fact I’m on it now. I was gonna get the SK3…but then the guy told me there was a new sidekick…he showed it to me and I liked it better…so I got it instead…and with the discounts and mail-in rebate…it only cost $100….I love it!!!!

I had the SK2 then I got the SK3, and when the SKid came out I was a little excited, but then I was like…..nah. Som instead of buying it because I already love my SK3, I made my friend buy it and he seems to think its pretty cool. Cause once again he doesn’t need a camera or an MP3. I don’t either, but it never hurts to have it like when you forget one or the other. I mean I can’t leave the house without my phone, but I can deal with not having my ipod or digital camera. Ya feel me. lol. Ok. Just wanted to say I’m a SKlover. I think I might be obsessed. :)

Theres No Reason to buy it because in another year there gonna come out with an SK4 and is gonna make this one look like shit and the company gonna keep getting your money!

this phone is really cool i am gettin this phone on august 14 my birthday because im only 11 my mom wont get me a sk3 so i cant wait

i think that the sk2 is cool i don’t want the sk3 because it is dumb i think that gettin a new phone and then getting another on alike is like so stupid people need to wake up because ya’ll on here r not made of money and neather do ya’ll parents so all ya’ll need to get a life and stop living that fake life cause all ya’ll poor and can’t get nuttin now wat and if u got a problem wat i am sayin then write back cause i want to hear wat ya’ll have to say.
