Sony has patented a 3D controller for the PS3 and Vaio PCs that responds not only to your wild, flailing movements, but also to your hand grip and applied pressure. As the drawings so wonderfully illustrate, the controller’s held in the palm of your hands. There’s a tactile response, too, so you’re able to feel the game, so to speak. I bet Sony’s real happy it finally settled with force feedback “inventor” Immersion a few weeks ago.
The most important information — will this patent ever see the light of day as a real product — is as of yet unknown.

I could see these being used from shooters to racing. Interesting to see what they’ll make of it.

For one.. Nintendo didn’t make the power glove.. Mattel did. And this may seem similar but its far from it. The way its designed it can actually be used and work correctly. It also kinda looks cool..

Naice. Who cares who copies who? It happens in all the other industries, why not this one? I mean, they didn’t just copy, if this works right, they kicked Nintendo’s ass in the interactive controller area. I’m all for the idea, and rest assured that Nintendo and Microsoft’ll follow with their own versions of it.
