No Pre-Sales For iPhone

iphone425.jpg

Well, well, well. The BGR has once again gotten the scoop and this time it’s about the iPhone. According to an internal document, the iPhone will be sold on a first come, first served basis. If you think your name being on a list will ensure you’ll have one on launch date then think again. I can see it now…thousands of crazy people camping out in front of AT&T stores. These lines will surpass those of Star Wars fans waiting for Episode 1. There are a few other tidbits, but nothing we don’t already know, such as the iPhone having “advanced software 5 years ahead of any phone” or the fact that pricing and launch date can not be discussed with customers. That whole non pre-sale thing is going to piss some people off.

“advanced software 5 years ahead of any phone”

How do they determine such numbers?

Just look at any other phone.

I wonder if the iPhone has an accessible SIM card. Based on the fact that it doesn’t have a user replaceable battery I don’t think so. And this pretty much seals the deal that ATT will be the only carrier. That will limit the iPhones market penetration severely. I live in the Bronx and I only know about 1 person on Cingular/ATT.

I believe the iPhone has a removeable SIM tray…would be kinda’ stupid not to…

From the pictures it doesn’t seem as if there is. I agree it would be a stupid idea. But not having a replaceable battery on a phone is also.

Even though I won’t be getting it, I am very happy that Apple is setting the bar higher so that these dinosaur cell phone makers will wake up and say, “Oh s**t, let’s do something new.”
