Good Idea, Bad Idea: iPod in a Microwave Edition

It’s approximately 134 degrees outside and that got me thinking: what if you put an iPod nano in the microwave? Work with me here, people. Well if you did, it’d look something like this, not all that dissimilar from a Fourth of July celebration held inside Bio Dome. We’re like The N: we go there.
As a matter of fact, a friend of mine actually put his iPod into a microwave in hopes of defrauding Best Buy into giving him a new one. Needless to say, his foolproof story of “it fell” didn’t convince the Best Buy staff. Serves him right.

Hey! That was me actually. I did that because BestBuy had pissed me off. They actually replaced the lcd, the motherboard, and the hard drive. They gave it back to me in perfect working order twice! They didn’t catch on that I had nuked it, or if they did they didn’t let on to me. I only nuked it for 3 secs each time.
Before yo go off thinking I’m an ass, I had legitimately exchanged that same Ipod 4 times (seriously) since I bought it. They would issue me a store credit and Best Buy would make me buy another replacement warranty each time which in the end seemed to be ok because they kept dying on me. Anyhow, the 4th exchange they said that they no longer offered a replacement warranty but now it was a repair only, unless the unit was beyond repair. So, to test this, a microwave does a pretty good job of toasting (pun intended) any sensitive electronics right?
So thats what I did. they actually held true to their word, they replaced that whole damn thing. Twice.
