This Is Iron Man’s Armor? WTF!

The Iron Giant

I know, I know. This has nothing to do with gadgets or gear, but I know many of you have an interest in the upcoming Iron Man movie. Well, I guess it does have to do with gadgets. Tony Stark’s Iron Man armor is constantly evolving and kicking more ass with every mod, so what was revealed at Comic-Con is baffling. It looks more like the The Iron Giant doesn’t it? The Gauntlet looks to be way more promising. Check it out and voice your opinion.

I believe this is going be the first suit he’s going wear. Which if you look at the original armor he has in the comics, http://www.marveldatabase.com/Iron_Man_Armor_MK_I, is pretty close.

I gotta say — I love it. Not the slick, polished suit form the comics, but very industrial and functional looking. It looks like a prototype — which is probably what the suit’s supposed to be in the first movie.

I’m guessing you haven’t read/seen Iron Man before (Peter)?

That’s the first suit he makes. It looks nice.

Here’s his last: http://localhostr.com/files/277ad3643051ec18ea0b.jpg

Is this article a joke? Its well known that the armor pictured above is the “prototype” armor Tony is forced to build. It is the first iteration of the armor, not the sleek, highly refined version of the armor that is sure to appear later in the movie. So being what it is, the bulky

Awesome. Just checking to see if there were any hardcore fans out there. It does look like the Iron Giant and I can’t wait to see how the suit evolves in the movie.

really, really sad that you (clearly) don’t know a thing about iron man and yet feel the need to make a post like this. stick to your (limited) tech knowledge peter

Actually, I’m well aware that this is the first suit and it looks exactly the way it did in Tales of Suspense. I’d really like to see the Extremis armor, but there is no hope of that happening in the first movie. Hopefully it does well enough for sequels to appear. But comic book movies have a tendency to veer away from the original story lines. War Machine would be tight, too.

No need to get your panties in a bunch. I merely wanted to get some discussion and fanboyism over something that isn’t Mac or Windows related.

“I’d really like to see the Extremis armor, …”

you totally wiki-pediad that, didn’t you :)

JC,
No I didn’t just Wiki that. You may think I have limited tech knowledge, but I know comic books and it helps that my roommate is a huge comic book nerd. I lost interest long ago, but he filled me in on what I’d missed over the last few years and now I’m hooked, again.

Civil War certainly pulled me back in and now I’m one of the nerds lining up at the shop every Wednesday to see what else is going on in the other ‘geek world’. I can’t believe I just admitted that.

This is the mark I suit that he uses to escape. I think it fits how it looked in the comic if you know the “myth” of Iron Man. I will say it is a little Iron Giant but not to it defeat.

Peter, it does look like the Iron Giant. I hope the movie is good as the accuracy in the prototype suit.

peter, i wouldn’t even doubt you if you didn’t:

1. title the blog post “This Is Iron Man’s Armor? WTF!”

and

2. say “…what was revealed at Comic-Con is baffling. ”

but you did, so i do :)

JC,

What can I say? I f’ed up. But it did get the response I was looking for. In all honesty I didn’t expect the Mark I to appear because I’ve only seen pictures of the new armor floating around and I try my best to avoid anything related to comic book movies. I’ve been disappointed enough with Ghost Rider and others, so please excuse my ignorance on the vast knowledge that CG’s audience obviously possesses about comic books. It happens. Let’s hope they don’t f*ck this one up.

I don’t think they will. It all looks good from what I’ve seen so far.
