If you’re planning on buying a new iPhone, feel free to update to 1.1.1. You can do the anti-AT&T nasty all by your lonesome thanks to a new version of AnySIM. Remember: if you’ve unlocked your older iPhone then you might have some issues until the Dev Team figures out how to return your phone to its virgin state. If you used iPhoneSIMFree, however, you’re golden anyway.
Generally, the 1.1.1 update isn’t worth the effort, but if you must have Wi-Fi iTunes, do it up, Wedge.

Can you clarify - has anyone come up with a way to Jailbreak a phone in 1.1.1? I have AT&T so my phone is not “unlocked,” but I do have apps on it. Will I be able to re-jailbreak and re-install apps? Or not yet.
Please post a link, if possible.

dan - the 1.1.1 firmware has been cracked and you can now unlock a FRESH 1.1.1 phone. By fresh I mean one straight out of the box, untouched by human hands. If you bought a 1.0.2 phone, used AnySim and jailbroke [??] it, don’t upgrade to 1.1.1. If you used iPhoneSimFree, go ahead and upgrade. It should work.
